And more Dell, and Albina's birthday

Today, the monitor arrived from Dell, overnight, in fact. Not bad service, really. I haven't plugged it in yet, but I'm thinking it's gonna work y'know? Gave Albina the perfect surprise b'day dinner tonight--six of her girlfriends at Campanile for sandwich night. She was totallly surprised, which was fun to see.

Worked yesterday on a pilot shoot for "Entertainment Tonight." I had Bobby Korda and Tony Doria sereneding Halle Barry as Steve Cojocaru interviewed her and romanced (not likely) her. I must admit, it was a cute bit of nothing, and, yes, she's perfect. Pix to follow; they're on a roll of film which I have to shoot out.

Family time

My sister-in-law Annette is here from Cleveland. The Bocchicchio women are all in the kitchen making cookies. Yes, they're making cookies, for Annette to take to her high school reunion on Saturday. It could be 1954 in there, or 1904 for that matter, but they're all having a great time...

So another new version of Cubase hits the streets, and you gotta wonder what's the point--how different can it really be; what unnoticed bugs does it fix that we didn't know needed fixing? Mackie has a great ad running in the music mags this month. To paraphrase, it says something like "You've just written a great song. What do you want to do now--record it or learn a new program?" The rush to complete technical mastery continues apace, but how many great songs are really being written?
